Bitchin' Broccoli
I just recently made up this recipe while I was bored and hungry a week or so ago and let me tell you, it has been a big hit with my friends ever since. Have you ever steamed broccoli before?? It is SO easy! I googled it...anyways I had some fresh broccs so I just rinsed and chopped them up. I just got a pot of water, enough to pretty much cover the broccs when i put them in there and got it to a boil. Once it boiled, I dumped in my chopped broccs, turned down the head to a 5 or 6(med high i guess) and tilted the lid to the side so that steam could escape and set the kitchen timer for like 5 or 6 minutes. I dont remember. Then I sat down and watched some tv until the timer went off. Then I hauled myself up and drained those puppies. I put them in a bowl and covered them in sesame oil (im sure olive oil would work just as well), lemon juice and soy sauce. In one variation i even added some sliced almonds. Not bad, but I havent done it again since, if you catch my drift. Then I mixed them all up, so that the broccs were all pretty much covered in juice, and you know what I had then? Some Bitchin' Broccoli.
